The 21st Annual Feis in the Desert, an international Irish Step-Dance Competition, will be held at the Historic Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler , Arizona , on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, January 14, 15, 16, 2011. This annual event is open to the public, and is co-sponsored by the Chandler Irish Cultural Council and Chandler 's Bracken School of Irish Dance. Pronounced "fesh," our competition attracts dance competitors from all over the United States and Canada . Our theme this year is "So You Think You Can Irish Dance!"
Please visit our website, www.feisinthedesert.org – register for the Irish Idol, Irish Bread-Baking and Duct Tape competitions through the website - all open to the public. All contact information for the Feis Committee is on the website. The Schedule of Events is up, along with information on our Special Events. Join us for the Wine and Cheese Reception and stay for our cultural event on Friday evening — "Irish Idol" where the audience is judge! Back by popular demand is the C.E.R.F. (Firemen's Relief Fund) Double Jig Competition to be held not once but twice ! – with the Chandler Firefighters' Foundation as beneficiary of the competition donations! And check out our "Ducts on Parade" Duct Tape competition - the criteria are challenging. Will you be the "Top Irish Baker?" Information will be online for all our non-dance events. Our event will be incorporated into the City of Chandler 's Multi-Cultural Festival for Saturday, January 16 th - lots of extra activities! We look forward to seeing you at the Feis in the Desert in January!
