Song Parody About Bagpipes

(Sung to the tune of "Downtown")

When you're alone and life is making you lonely
You can always play-- Bagpipes
Life is a breeze now, when you blow and you squeeze now
You just have to play-- Bagpipes
Oh, when you start they'll break your heart
With squealing fits and groaning
Your chanter reed is way too sharp, your bass drone's double-toning
What can you do?
Just hang in there, boys and girls,
And if you practice your doublings and work on those birls
You'll play BAGPIPES!
You ain't heard nothin' yet
BAGPIPES!
No wimpy clarinet
BAGPIPES!
Don't let your reeds get wet now.

You go to your lesson, there's that lumluath you're messin'
But you're on your way-- Bagpipes
You're only a hack now, but there's no turning back now
You just have to play-- Bagpipes
A lifetime spent on practice chanter, you know how it feels
Then suddenly you're ripping through those march-strathspey-and-reels
Happy again
You don't care now what they say
They can sit there and listen or get out of your way, you play
BAGPIPES!
Play me that jig again!
BAGPIPES!
Where was that gig again?
BAGPIPES!
The sound is so big when we play.
