Irish Travel Tips by Pam Stewart and
Video "Michael Palin's Irish Railway Journey"

There is more to having a successful trip to Ireland than remembering to drive on the left side and knowing you can't light up in the pubs any more. Pam Stewart has organized innumerable tours to Ireland and Scotland, so she can provide tips about how to get the most out of your trip.

Also included will be "Michael Palin: Irish Railway Journey". Michael Palin, of Mony Python fame, has gained a reputation as world traveler with his witty comments while going around the world and from pole to pole. By comparison, his trip from Derry to Kerry covers less distance, but has greater personal connection as Palin searches for his ancestors.

"Michael Palin makes yet another exciting journey, this time by rail around the Emerald Isle. Starting from Derry – or Londonderry, depending on your religious and political persuasions - he travels along the coast to Portrush. Beyond the Giant’s Causeway he comes to Shane’s Castle, where Lord O’Neill shows him his greatest treasure, a private steam train. Michael climbs aboard the so-called Peace Train for the journey south to Dublin. Here he has a seat at the Priests’ Show and meets Dublin’s own megastar, The Edge from the rock band U2. On a trail steam-hauled out of Dublin to Rosslare, and then on to Cork, Michael seeks his family roots. His journey - and his search - ends in Tralee, County Kerry."
