With fiddle, pipes, accordion, flutes, whistles, bodhran and more, we at In Concert! consider Danu the finest Irish traditional band in the world today. The Irish Music Awards agree, giving them the Best Traditional Irish Band award in 1999, and the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards gave them best band award in both 2001 and 2004, and with their new vocalist, an award for best live song performance. In recent news, "Danú will be embarking on a three week long tour in January and February 2006. The highlight of this tour will be a six day visit to India in January with the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and an Irish trade delegation." |
