www.azirish.org"Why was there a 1916 Easter Rebellion?", "What was it?", "Who was in it?" and "Why was it important?" The
1916 Easter Rebellion Commemoration is a multi-media answer to those and other questions, including "Who are the Irish people?" It is told as a story of Ireland from the earliest mystical times up to, through and after the Rising. The story includes visual presentation of maps, portraits, documents, buildings and relics, and by live performances of songs and music.
This is an objective, historically accurate and very intense presentation. Shay Veno and Jane Hilton provide moving renditions of music and songs that include "Brian Boru's March", "The Croppy Boy", "Kilkelly Ireland", "Boys of the Old Brigade", "Come Out Ye Black and Tans", "Grace" and "There were Roses" all sung in accompaniment to the story presented my Jim Daugherty. Dave Tierney will provide the Prelude and Postlude.
Come join us for two very enjoyable and enlightening hours."
