| The Irish Foundation of Arizona was formed
in 1973 to bring together the Irish people to preserve and further their
proud Irish culture and heritage.
The group sponsors social events throughout the year and was committed to helping establish a permanent Irish Cultural Center in Phoenix. Our organization is the sponsor of the Annual Emerald Ball, This year's 23rd Annual Emerald Ball “kicks off” the St. Patrick’s Day season and celebration of events to follow during the month of March. The Emerald Ball is our signature event and a wonderful evening of fine Irish entertainment, dining and dancing. The ball will be held February 25, 2006, St. Paul’s Church (Parish Hall) 330 W. Coral Gables, Phoenix. Az. The line up includes: Piping by Owen Keating with John Abberton on the drum, listen the magnificant voice of Brid Dower singing the National Anthems of the United States of America and Ireland, enjoy dancing to the music of the Mulligans an American/International Irish Band and returning once again, our Master of Ceremony ,the ever popular well known radio host, Mr. Marty Manning . Join Marty for a great evening of fun & entertainment! During dinner, you'll be entertained by champion Irish Dancers and this year, meet the newly crowned 2006 Colleen making her official first debut, welcoming the guests. Our organization decided it was time to partner with a charity , grow the attendance of the ball and share some of the proceeds of this event. We selected the Phoenix Fire Department’s “Baby Shots Program” as our charity of choice. This dedicated group serves our community providing a vital and much needed service to children. The “Baby Shots Program” has won national acclaim from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and National Partnership for Immunizations for providing free vaccinations to infants, toddlers and children against vaccine-preventable diseases in the greater Phoenix area. Everyone realizes the dangerous work our firefighters face daily and yet, they find time to provide much needed health and safety programs enhancing the quality of life for children and families in our community .These programs are offered in addition to their routine job! Our firefighters are amazing and they need some financial assistance to keep this wonderful program going. By helping them, we are giving a little back to our community and demonstrating our support.
