Best Of The Vanguard Years

Recent Album:    Best Of The Vanguard Years    2000

During the folk music revival of the 1950's, the Clancy brothers and Tommy Makem got together to sing some traditional Irish folk songs. They brought considerble energy to old standards and made a major impace. They rose to international prominance after a famous appearance on the Ed Sullivan show and had a huge impact on numerous Irish music groups to follow such as the Dubliners and Canada's Irish Rovers. Liam Clancy performed as a solo artist as has Tommy Makem. The Clancy Brothers teamed up with a number of performers over the years such as David Hammond, Lou Killen, and Robbie O'Connell.
