Drifting Through The Hazel Wood

Recent Album:    Drifting Through The Hazel Wood    1996

A native of Cabra, Dublin, Declan Masterson makes his Celtic Heartbeat debut with the spotlight placed on his proficient mastering of such instruments as the low whistle, the tin whistle, uilleann pipes, bouzouki, bodhran, concertina, guitar, and keyboards. The self-produced "Drifting Through The Hazel Woods" (his third release overall) finds Masterson combining his talent as a multi-instrumentalist with his skill as a composer and arranger.

A former member of Moving Hearts and Patrick Street, he has also performed and recorded with such top artists as Bono, Christy Moore, Planxty, and John Denver, in addition to the London Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra.

Declan is currently on tour with Riverdance the show in the UK (From the Celtic Heartbeat website)

Snapshots

Recent Album:    Snapshots    1999

Celtic pop singer/songwriter Eleanor McEvoy was born in Dublin on January 20, 1967, beginning piano lessons at age four; she took up the violin two years later, and as a teen joined the Junior Irish Youth Orchestra. Upon graduating college, McEvoy was tapped for the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, but after four years she quit to pursue a career as a pop performer; in 1992, her "Only a Woman's Heart" highlighted the anthology =A Woman's Heart,= which went on to become the best-selling album in Irish chart history. The record's success made McEvoy a superstar virtually overnight, and in 1994 she issued her self-titled full-length debut; =What's Following Me?= appeared two years later, and in mid-1999 she returned with =Snapshots.= ~ Raymond McKinney (From CD-NOW Biography)

Shane    McGowan    Back to Artist List

Recent Album:    Crock of Gold    1997

London/Irish singer and songwriter by the name of Shane MacGowan. Since the rise of the punk movement, he has fronted three great bands [the Nips, the Pogues, and the Popes], (noteably the Pogues) that have made a great impression on people which will not soon be forgotten. Shane's musical styles have ranged from punk, to rockabilly, to fast, upbeat Irish traditional music, to middle eastern, to inspiring ballads, to many others. Shane is still alive writing new material and playing shows with his current band "The Popes." (Exerpt from the King of Bop - Link #2)
