1. OUT AND ABOUT
--- MAR 17 UPDATES PLEASE
I’m trying to get all the St. Patrick’s Day gigs for the calendar. Also, I want to remind people that the Looking for Bands/Looking for Gigs is working but I’m not getting anough information. Please give:
Band
Day avaiable (from 13th through 17”
Time available
Where available (area in Arizona, part of Phoenix, etc.)
Style of music
I’m hoping people will let me know what times the bands are already booked as soon as possible so people looking for bands can find what they are looking for.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Latest Band to post is Round the House from Tucson.
We will be available in Phoenix on Sat the 14 after 3 pm... We could play anywhere in the Phoenix area after that time. If something was really great and well paying but further afield, I'm sure we'd consider it. We will need to be in Tucson for the Tucson St. Pat's festival on the 15th but still don't know when (!)
We need to be at our gig north of Phoenix at 5:00 or so, and it would be RTH light (no Dave) or with Gordon Gower (flute) joining us. So ideally, mid-day in Phoenix would be best.
We couldn't do something in Tucson unless it's over by 2:00-ish

9.5/10” Hot Press
”Super vocals, a terrific staccato beat to the rhythm with a real sense of style and wit. This is a major, major band to be reckoned with” .
Chicago- American News
”A heady, virtually head-spinning, sonic blend stamping Beoga as perhaps the most audacious Irish band rooted in trad today” .
The Irish Echo
”BEOGA "THE INCIDENT" (COM 4499) $15.00 - COMPASS RECORDS.
The unique sound of Beoga, the five-piece traditional band based in County Antrim, features the twin dueling accordions of Seán Óg Graham and Damian McKee, along with four-time All-Ireland bodhrán champion Eamon Murray and pianist Liam Bradley along with the vocals of one of Ireland’s premier young singers, Niamh Dunne,
Beoga’s 2007 release, Mischief, made the Boston Globe’s “Best of 2007” list with their signature mix of Irish traditional music with nuances of bluesy riffs, Astor Piazzola-style jazz and a raunchy New Orleans jamboree vibe.
Beoga’s third album The Incident delivers more fresh and lively compositions from the Irish quintet. An explosive and quirky collection of melodies and songs with the Beoga stamp present from the start, The Incident is set to capitalize on the group’s popularity as they captivate audiences on a global scale with their blend of passion, energy and vitality.”

8. MEMO FROM MEADOWLARK
Hello friends!
I hope the New Year finds you prospering! Lynn & I continue to perform although the public performance opportunities are a bit more limited due to venue budget constraints. A new project about which we are quite excited is teaching an after-school program a few days a week in Phoenix. We have developed a colorful curriculum that offers a variety of art & music activities that explore cultures from around the world. If you have a child in school or know of a school that might be interested in such a program, please contact us. We'd love to know about new opportunities to share this!
"Ally & the Boys", our new, pure Celtic group, is still accepting both public and private performance engagements for dates on and around St. Patrick's Day. To book this group, please e-mail us at mail@meadowlarkmusic.com to check availability and pricing for your party or event. We'll be announcing our public St. Patrick's Day performances soon!
You can always find out about our public performances by visiting the calendar page of our website: http://meadowlarkmusic.com/performance_calendar.htm.
Also, any of you guitarists or would be guitarists out there...
I am now resuming offering private guitar lessons in Tempe on an hourly basis and can schedule weekly or periodic lessons. Please drop me an e-mail to inquire.
ATTENTION MUSICIANS...
We are selling the following equipment (see below). If any of this interests you, please contact us by e-mail and we can talk further.
I apologize if the information that follows has no relevance to you, please bear with us as we have no way to target only the musicians on our e-mail list.
We hope to see you at one of our upcoming performances! Thank you for your continued interest and support!
