It is not yet common knowledge that I am part of the new Celtic choir, Celtica! so I've held off promoting the choir until they are ready to go. Sat. afternoon will be give everyone a chance to judge, but believe me when I tell you they sound terrific.
 
Patterned on the great Irish choir Anuna, Celtica! offers a choral blend of older Irish music. including Medieval Irish and and O' Carolan music. Celtica! has some marvelous soloists to go with a great blend of voices. Don't miss us.

Only 13 days left until St Patty’s Day. Everyone is Irish on St Patty’s Day, so make plans to join us for a great day of festivities and good fun.
 
The warm-ups and fun begin this Friday night with Karl Jones performing from 7-10PM and Inis Saturday night beginning at 6:30 PM.  Friday March 12th Celtic Meadowlark will take the stage at 6:30 PM and Karl Jones will return Saturday at 7PM
 
Join us for our St Patty’s Day mass at 10AM March 17th.
 
Music, Piper and Dancers will entertain you throughout the early afternoon and Karl Jones will perform from 5-10PM.
 
Remember St Patty’s Day is the one day we do not accept reservations.

St. Patrick's Day Fun- All Around Town

12-3pm:  Join us at O'Donoghue's ALL DAY PARTY!! "Taste of Ireland" buffet at 11am.($15)  Live Celtic entertainment at noon from Meadowlark with violinist Allen Ames followed by the Celtic Dance Academy at 3pm, $10 cover charge starting at noon. More activities follow Meadowlark!


6-10pm Marriott Desert Ridge's Vista Lounge. This casually hip lounge is located in the expansive grand lobby. Enjoy Live Celtic entertainment from Meadowlark with violinist Allen Ames while taking in views of the shimmering waterways and pristine landscape surrounded by the majestic McDowell Mountains. 8.     STRANGFORD LOUGH BREWING COMPANY IRISH MUSIC COMPETITION
 
[EDITOR’S NOTE: I don’t know much about this program, but it sounds interesting]

All entries for our Irish music competition with the prize of a trip to Ireland must be received this week.  Please send us your video entries as soon as possible.
 
The deadline is midnight EST this Thursday 11th March 
Our online battle of the bands competition is for bands from Ireland, America and UK who play Irish music. 
If your band wants to play in Celtic Fusion Irish Music Festival, County Down, the home of Saint Patrick, 18th July 2010, also receiving a once in a lifetime trip of flights and five nights accommodation courtesy of Strangford Lough Brewing Company in Ireland, simply enter by sending us a video of your band playing. 
 
The competition is easy to enter; either upload a video of your band to Youtube and send us the link or upload your video through TransferBigFiles.com and once again send us the link.  Videos must be in MPEG, WMV, or AVI formats. 
We’ll be upload all the videos to our You Tube channel www.youtube.com/botb2 as we receive them.  Voting is scheduled from 15th March to 22nd March so be sure to tell your fans to vote for you.

9.   GLENDALE FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL REMINDER 
 
My thanks to Barbara Giamalvo for passing on this information to us about the Glendale Folk & Heritage Festival on Saturday, March 20
and Sunday, March 21,GLENDALE, Ariz. – Over 150 performers with styles ranging from Folk and Bluegrass to Cowboy Poetry and Storytelling will entertain at Glendale Parks and Recreation’s two-day Folk & Heritage Festival.
 
The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday March 20 and Sunday March 21 at the Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area, 9802 N. 59th Ave.  Attendees are welcome to enjoy the entertainment on six stages and participate in free workshops such as “Thumbstyle Guitar for Beginners,” “How to Play the Musical Saw” and “Healing Through Music & Sound” led by accomplished entertainers. 
 
This unique festival includes family entertainment, historic Sahuaro Ranch site tours, blacksmith demonstrations and children’s stage and activity area.  Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.  Admission and most activities are free.
