7. MEMO FROM THE BRAZEN HEADS
Greetings all!
It's that time of year again!!!!
The Brazen Heads cordially invite you to come play a part in the following mayhem:
This Friday & Saturday night March 13 & 14th the band will be playing at the Dubliner at 9pm. This is a warmup gig, we'll be hosting practice drinking lessons.
This Saturday afternoon March 14th, we'll be joining in the fun at the Irish Faire at 2pm! This gig is mandatory for vitamins necessary for survival. In other words it's a grand excuse to get the hell out of dark pubs for a day and out into the sunshine.
This Sunday we'll be on Channel 3TV at 9:45Am. We know that's damn early but bonus points if you can tape it for us!!
And last but not least St. Patrick's Day itself....
12-3 O'Connor's
4-8 Dubliner
9:30-12:30 O'Donoghue's
We love to see people at all three places that day but encourage if you can only pick one to pick the last one. We love both early places for sure and want you to support them and us as well but....the last place is a pub we've never played and we really want to show them that The Brazen Heads can bring it!!! If you do go there, please make sure to let the staff know you are there to see The Brazen Heads! Make some signs, display your Brazen Head Tshirt proudly whatever it is, do it boldly! We'll love you even more than we already do and will give you very
special pressie for doing so!

12. MEMO FROM VYKTORIA PRATT KEATING
An Evening Of Celtic Music & Cuisine At Bliss Café In Sedona On Mar 18 With Vyktoria Pratt Keating
Bliss Cafe in Sedona. Wednesday March 18th. Dinner from 5pm, music starting at 6pm.
Join Bliss Cafe as they host singer/guitarist Vyktoria Pratt Keating in an evening to celebrate St. Patricks Day and the approach of Spring.
Celtic music from haunting ballads to rousing tunes, featuring Vyktoria’s captivating vocals, guitar & song interpretation in their most pure form will
be only part of the evening’s fare. Chef David Warr has designed a tantalizing menu of traditional Irish food, all prepared Vegan (no meat or animal products). Guests will choose from such hearty dishes as Dublin Coddle with Vegan Sausage, Vegan Corned Beef and Cabbage, Vegan Irish Stew, and Roasted Red Potato Salad. Dessert will feature a Baily’s Irish Creme Bread Pudding.
This special event will be on March 18th, the day after St. Patricks. Known primarily for her original artful progressive folk/rock songs, Vyktoria has also released a Celtic CD entitled “After The Gathering” Her Celtic music repertoire includes songs from Scotland, England and Ireland and several a capella numbers that audiences love. Influenced by all the tradtional music she heard growing up in the Washington DC area, her time spent touring and living in the UK, and her Scottish/English ancestry, Vyktoria’s renditions of the traditional and contemporary Celtic songs carry a strong feeling of emotional and musicial authenticity. In 2001 she formed the trio “Little Beggar Girl” featuring local Sedona musicians Fitz Jenkins and Stephen Sen’Gerni, performing their haunting renditions of Celtic music. The concert at Bliss Cafe is Vyktoria’s first Celtic music concert in Sedona since those days of Little Beggar Girl.
Chef David Warr of the Bliss Cafe is no stranger to the UK. He lived in England for 5 years during whch time he travelled extensively to the UK’s many sacred sights. The menu for the evening is based on traditional Irish food, prepared Vegan style using organic ingredients. This evening’s paring of Celtic music and Cuisine is a first in Sedona that you won’t want to miss!

13. RICK CYGE REVIEWS LUNASA CD FOR EARTHSONG
[EDITOR’S NOTE” Besides Earthsong, Rick performs solo, and with Meadowlak plus Ally and te Boys.]
Hi George,
I've been reviewing Celtic and World Music CDs for various internet and print publications and thought your readers would enjoy reading my latest review, Lunasa's "Sé".
Artist: Lúnasa
Album: Sé
Label: Compass Records
Rating: 5 stars
Calling their sixth album, Sé (pronounced Shay), Gaelic for Six, Lúnasa continues to reinvent from a base of traditional elements of acoustic Irish music. Adding bold rhythmic frameworks, individual songs are fashioned into medleys that incorporate a number of different grooves and spiral upward in intensity creating an album that is about as “traditionally” exciting as they come. Lúnasa’s innovative spin on some carefully chosen, less than widely recorded material is most refreshing. Instrumentation includes nylon and steel string guitars, double bass, fiddles, flutes, whistles, bodhran, Uilleann pipes, a little piano and even a trombone! Exhilarating!
~Rick Cyge, Earthsong Online
This recording is available at our own Arizona based web site, www.EarthsongOnline.com, the internet's best source for New Age, Celtic, World, Piano, and Guitar music. Earthsong Online is a site that invites you to browse, listen, explore and discover exciting new music. 14. PHOENIX CELTIC SHOW NOW ON
Hi George and Everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know that we now have our own Celtic show here in Phoenix, AZ. I've been test piloting my show 'Celtic Spiral' since November and with St. Paddy's Day on the near horizon, it's about time I spread the word. I hosted/produced a Celtic show for seven years in the Boston area, ending in 2002 when I moved back to Phoenix. It's been a while, and I was more than ready to get back at it again. Celtic Spiral is Sunday mornings, 10am till noon, on Radio Phoenix- www.radiophoenix.org . So, I hope to have lots of you listen in!
I'd also be happy to play local bands on the show, and hope to do some live interviews and music too. CDs can be sent to:
Laura Davidson-Crowley/Celtic Spiral
Radio Phoenix
P.O. Box 2437
Phoenix, AZ 85002-2437
And bands/musicians can email me at laura@radiophoenix.org .
Radio Phoenix is a community radio station in evolution for the Phoenix area. We also have two fm applications in with the FCC, as we hope to expand beyond the web to airwaves. I am excited to be part of this effort to bring community radio to Phoenix. Living in the Boston area, I witnessed how vital this type of radio is to the creation of a vibrant healthy music scene, as well as, to the development of a sense of connection. You can read more about what we're up to at www.radiophoenix.org . Feel free to drop me an email line too.
Best to All,
Laura
