He was diagnosed with a rare birth condition that causes irregular blood flow to the spine, and has had to undergo open back surgery and extensive physical therapy. 2. PROGRAMS EVERY FRIDAY AT ICC BEGINNING IN APRIL
Every Friday there will be a program the Irish Cultural Center starting in April. There will be concerts, theatrical shows, lectures, art shows, and other programs to go along with the monthly ceili on the third Friday.
For all Friday events, doors open at 6:00 PM with the program starting 7:00 P.M. There will be a cash bar available.

--- ICC JOINS FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK ON APRIL 1
"First Friday" is an art walk in central Phoenix which draws thousands of people to the area's numerous art galleries, studios, and other venues. Beginning in April, the ICC will be a bus stop on the buses that take people around to the various venues and the ICC should attract a considerable number of visitors.
Each month there will be a new display of art and photography from Celtic artists of Arizona as well as visiting exhibitions from Ireland. Ira Hayden of Celticia Gallery has graciously agreed to help coordinate, so artists should contact him at ira.hayden@cox.net or call 602-252-2160.
In addition to the art show, there will tours of center, the cottage with the Book of Kells exhibit, presentation of the Hunger Memorial, and a seisiun.
First Friday runs from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Volunteers should contact Ann Odenwald at annevelma@yahoo.com or call 480-946-5008.

--- MARSHALL TRIMBLE AND SUE HARRIS PRESENTATION ON "IRISH IN THE WEST" ON APR 8
Marshall Trimble, the Arizona State Historian, is joined by folk singer Sue Harris as they show the influence of the Irish on the West in general and Arizona in particular through stories and music. A great many "cowboy songs" have deep Irish roots.

Ceili dancing is a form of social dancing where everyone, from young children to their grandparents, can get involved. ICC ceili instructor Sarah Houghtelin gives instructions and then calls the dance as it goes along.

--- ARIZONA READER'S THEATER: BRIAN FRIEL'S "MOLLY SWEENEY" ON APR 22
Friel delves into issues of memory, perception and reality, topics
central to many of his other plays like Faith Healer and Dancing at
Lughnasa. Molly, blind for almost 40 years, has undergone surgery to
restore her sight, at the urging of others who hope for a miracle.
Molly, her husband, and her doctor weave their soliloquies into an image
of conflicting expectations and perceptions of the results.
Doors open at 6:00 PM; admission is $5.00. The performance starts at
7:00 PM.

--- AIDAN O'SULLIVAN "ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERIES OF EARLY MEDIEVAL IRELAND" APR 29
This program is presented by the Irish American Cultural Institute, www.iaci-usa.org.
"Recent archaeological discoveries in Ireland have transformed our knowledge of the landscapes, places and peoples of early medieval Ireland, AD 400-1100. . From Viking raids to the spread of Christianity, early medieval Ireland was a tumultuous time radically different to our own in terms of social identities of power, gender, ethnicity and kinship. Through aerial photography, archaeological survey, excavation, and other means, we have gained new insights into the daily lives, work and practices of the people of this fascinating and formative era.Discover how archaeological studies have given new insight to life during this significant formative era."
3. NEW CD: PHOENIX IRISH CULTURAL CENTER PRESENTS "THE CONCERT SERIES"
Visitors to Arizona are often surprised to find that not only is there Irish music in Arizona, but at the incredible quality and diversity of the music. Now everyone can get a sample of this great music in a compellation CD titled, "Phoenix Irish Cultural Center Presents "The Concert Series".
This CD was put together as a fundraising project of the Irish Cultural Center and includes many of the best known performers in the Phoenix Irish music scene. Performers include the McMorrows, Blackwood, Brid Dower Band, Sheila Maguire Band, Oceans Apart, Pat McCrossan, Afan, Seanachie, Meadowlark, O'Carroll's Gate, The Clare Voyants, Jan Alexander of the Prescott based New Potatoes, Pat and Rosie Maloney from Vail, and Peter Rolland formerly of Crossbow. In addition to music by Arizona artists, there are tracks by visiting artists: Mike Breen and Brian Baines, both from San Diego as well as a track by the great Scottish vocalist Alex Beaton.
The CD was introduced at last Saturday's Irish Faire and is now available at the Irish Cultural Center and will soon be available through the web site.

I need to correct your listings for Pranksters Too....Wed is the Sessiun nite starting around 7;30 and Thurs is a Celtic Music night hosted by myself.
And also I will be performing solo on 3/17 at Pranksters Tempe 4-6pm (Broadway just east of rural) for St Paddys' day and then Pranksters Too 8pm with the "Rakes" a "new Trad band" for a St Paddys' day throwdown.
