3. IRISH DAY AT FARMER'S MARKET ON SAT APR 26
Traditional Irish Music
721 N. Central
SE Corner of Central Ave. & McKinley St.
(2 blks S of Roosevelt)
Sat. Apr 26
9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
I'll try to have my sound system and info tent setup before we start.
For anyone who can come by early, I could use the help. No one is
expected to be there the entire time.
Our plan is to distribute information about CCE, AIMS, and the Academy
while getting contact information from people. This will be the first
major outreach project for CCE so talking to people will be just as
important as the music.

6. TOWN HALL TO DISCUSS FORMATION OF IRISH HERITAGE CENTER IN TUCSON ON APR 26
Twenty years ago, the Irish American Gaelic Society of Tucson was formed. Its mission: "Committed to the preservation and enjoyment of Irish culture, heritage and values through both educational and social functions which allow both interaction with the Tucson Irish community, other Celtic groups and other ethnic communities in the greater Tucson area and beyond." Its vision: to establish an Irish Heritage Center in the Old Pueblo. To that end, they have worked over the last twenty years to establish a fund, earmarked for the seed money for the center. What an inspiration these Irish-American organization founders have been over the years; keeping our culture and heritage alive in the desert southwest.
It's time to start seeing this idea to fruition. Organizers from many Celtic societies here in Tucson are coming together to help make this dream a reality. These include representatives from the Emerald Isle society, St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, City of Tucson, Tucson/Roscommon Sister Cities, EMAT (European Multi-ethnic Alliance of Tucson), Tir Connell Academy of Irish Dance, Pima Community College and the University of Arizona. Please join your fellow Celts in a town hall meeting to discuss funding, location, uses, and vision of the future heritage center.
Discussion of Irish Heritage Center-Tucson
Saturday April 26th, 2008
Armory Park Senior Center
220 S. Fifth Avenue

Representatives from the Phoenix Irish Cultural Center, Rio Nuevo Project, and Pima County Board of Supervisors will be present to answer questions, spark discussion and assist with preliminary planning.
Please mark your calendars to share your thoughts and enthusiasm.
