--- ANNIE MOORE BIRTHDAY PARTY ON THUR AT ICC
Annie Moore was the first person to go through Ellis Island in 1892. Only last year was it discovered who the REAL Annie Moore was and it was found that her direct descendents are living in the Phoenix area. In the process, it was found that the real Annie Moore’s birthday was May 24th 1878 in County Cork.
This will be an informal party, but it will give people a chance to meet the family and learn about some of the plans for the Annie Moore Memorial Project, www.anniemoore.net.
2. THE CHUCKAWALLA RHYTHM KINGS BURBLE AGAIN
The Chuckawalla Rhythm Kings are pleased to announce their return to Lute's Casino in Yuma. Entertainment Manager Matt Weber has arm wrestled ASCAP into submission and has begun to book Lute's summer schedule.
So far, CRK is performing June 29 and July 13, both Fridays. More dates TBA. Get directions to Lute's at chuckawallaRK.com.
Matt says he is open to booking additional Irish music groups from out of the area. Play Lute's. Eat an Especial. See the dust, cobwebs, bedpans and peeling paint for yourself. Contact Matt at mlmlweber@hotmail.com and mention that you heard it here.
And if you get booked, send CRK a note. They'll attend, get sloppy drunk and request "Wild Rover" incessantly.

3. LIAM’S BIRTHDAY PARTY AT SKEPTICAL CHYMIST ON SAT

The 26th is a special date as it is Liam's birthday and we have a party planned for him at the gig. We need your help to make it special & fun!
Silly cards, party hats, favors or anything really goofy is most welcome but your being there will be enough.

5. SPECIAL THANKS TO SHAY VENO
Just a note saying thanks to Shay for coming out and playing for my family this Sunday.
My sister, Erin and I have had relatives in town the past week, ones that love to see Shay preform live.
With the distance between us “East Valley” and O’Connors, plus the amount of family to transport. We had given up on the chance to see him last Friday or Saturday.
I had contacted Shay via AzIrishMusic.com “thanks to George” about coming to us, and playing a couple sets in a home setting. Food, drink, spirit and awesome notes were flowing in Chandler that evening.
Needless to say all were grinning from ear to ear, and had an excellent time. We even had my Mother, Jean Ann, listening via speaker phone from Iowa, most of his second set.
Thanks again Shay, you are a truly talented gentlemen. Look forward to doing it again this fall, when my Mother visits.
And thanks to you George for making Shay's contact accessible, and all the hard work you do.
Take care,
6. MEMO FROM SHEILA
Check out band "website" at: High Tides
[EDITOR’S NOTE: Sheila was here a few weeks ago for a visit and told us about her rock band, High Tides, back in Brooklyn. Not much Irish, but they’ve turned Sheila into a vocalist to go with her fiddling.]
7. MEMO FROM MEADOWLARK
Hi Folks!
I hope you're having a great spring! Summer's sneaking up on us.... I wanted to give you the scoop on our performance schedule for June. While Meadowlark has a concert on the books in Prescott Valley (a return performance at a great outdoor venue!), I (guitarist, Rick Cyge) have a number of fun gigs coming up. As a soloist, I have a different mix of music from the usual Meadowlark repertoire. While I do cover some Meadowlark standards like "Short Trip Home" and "Ashokan Farewell", much of my solo guitar music is a variety of instrumental arrangements of "Baby Boomer Classics" like the Beatles, James Taylor, Paul Simon, etc. I throw some guitar gems in for seasoning like Windy & Warm, some Nuevo Flamenco goodies, well, you get the idea. I also get to perform a couple of times with my good friend, singer/songwriter/guitarist Mike Breen. Similar mix but with vocals thrown in for good measure.
I hope to see you at one or more of our upcoming outings!
Warm Regards,
Rick Cyge
