2. RANDALL BAYS ON JUNE 17 CONCERT
You may have seen the announcements
in the Four Peaks newsletter and/or in George's newsletter about the Randal Bays
house concert on June 17th. In case you don't get either of those newsletters:
it will be an evening of superb traditional fiddle and guitar music in a nice
relaxed house setting (you need to contact Laura to reserve a spot - her email
contact is on here). Randal is also planning to do a fiddle workshop on Tuesday
evening the 16th, which I believe is going to be at the ICC. If you or anyone
you know is interested in the workshop, please contact Laura (I don't know the
time or cost - Laura or Mary should have that information). If you're not a fiddler (or any type of musician) but love Irish music and storytelling
at its best, make sure to plan on attending the Randal Bays House Concert to
be held on Wednesday, July 17 in Chandler. Suggested donations are $12 for Comhaltas
members and workshop attendees, $15 for non-members. You won't want to miss
this evening of music and fun! Seats are very limited, so call or email Mary
ASAP
Looking to improve your fiddle skills and get tips to help your playing style?
Join Four Peaks Irish Arts for an informative fiddle workshop taught by Randal
Bays. This two-hour workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at the Irish Cultural
Center in downtown Phoenix from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. The price is $30. This is an
incredible opportunity to learn from one of the top Irish fiddlers in the US!
Reserve your spot today by calling Mary Hill-Connor at 512-917-0279 or email
mary@fourpeaksirisharts.org .
Also, if you're a student at the ICC Academy, you should have gotten an email
from Pat that they are discounting the workshop to $10 as a "thank you" to Academy
students who've been playing at all the recent events. Should be a great couple of evenings!
Please contact me to register for the concert (seats are limited and going
fast!) --
Mary Hill-Connor Cheers! --

5. UPCOMING ALLY & THE BOYS PERFORMANCES
Hi friends!
The summer is almost upon us and there's music in the air. Lynn & I are excited
to be performing again with our new Celtic "Alter-Ego", Ally & the Boys! (photo
below)
Here's the lineup of Ally & the Boys: ------------------------------------------------------- A little about who we are & what we do:
Ally & the Boys cooks up an enticing stew of traditional and contemporary jigs,
reels and other dance tunes, throws in a dash of traditional Irish songs and
pub favorites, and seasons the mix with some of our favorite cover songs with
a Celtic twist. We have a great time trading licks and quips on stage! Allen
Ames is a long time regular with Meadowlark adding color and excitement to the
mix. Jonathan, our newest member, spent a couple of years on the road, touring
with the amazing Cirque du Soleil! His broad palette of styles and influences
adds new depth to our sound.
UPCOMING PERFORMANCES
You can catch the trio version of Ally & the Boys (with Jonathan) at Celtic
Crossings Pub (Gateway Mall, 3250 Gateway Blvd. in Prescott) this Saturday night,
June 13th from 6:30 -- 9:30 pm. There's no cover and their fish and chips are
outstanding! We will be returning to Celtic Crossings on Friday, July 10th.
For info: 928-443-8454.
The Meadowlark Duo (Lynn & I) performs at Lis Doon Varna Irish Pub (16100 N.
Arrowhead Fountain Center Drive in Peoria) on Sunday, June 21st from 12:30 --
3:00 pm. They also have excellent food & spirits! For info: 623-979-0730.
We hope to see you at one of these performances! By the way, Lynn's middle
name is Alison ("Ally")!
Warm Regards,
