The Expanded Irish Cultural Center Gift Shop run by Pat & Patty McCrossan, the former proprietors of Ireland's Own, is now open from 10:30 am until 6 pm Tuesday through Friday and from 10:30 am until 3 pm on Saturday. It will also be open for any ICC special events. Call (602) 254-6094.

1. OUT AND ABOUT
--- SEAN LEE TO SPEAK AT IRISH FOUNDATION MEETING ON WED
Sean Lee, of the ICC, will speak at the Irish Foundation meeting about an exciting development which is in the works at the Cultural Center. If everything goes as planned, it will mean a steady source of income for the Center. That in turn will help the Foundation (we may even get our gate) and the other organizations. The meeting is on Wednesday, July 5, at 7:00 pm at the Center, 1106 N. Central, Phoenix. Those who attend will get a sneak preview of the July Art Walk Show.
--- O'CONNOR'S 16th ANNIVERARY PARTY ON SUNDAY
Pat McCrossan will be the featured performer at the O'Connor's Anniversary Party. There will food, music, and fun at O'Connor's 16th anniversary.

2. FIRST FRIDAY ART SHOW AT ICC ON FRI JULY 7
WATERCOLOR EXHIBITION PLANNED
A group of actively painting watercolor artists plan to exhibit a collection of their current paintings, mainly of Irish theme. Coming from varied backgrounds, the artists paint together on a regular basis, show their work locally and regionally, and enjoy close friendships. The artists are:

Julie Frye - retired art instructor
Ina May Moore - Former art instructor
Joan Ritsch - retired art instructor
Bob Schuster - retired educator
Jim Smith - retired and actively painting

Virginia Wordsman - retired commercial artist

7. ACADEMY TERM STARTS JULY 17 WITH EXPANDED PROGRAM OF CLASSES
The 3rd. Term for the Celtic Academy lessons will commence the week of July 17th. A Scottish Highland dancing class has been added. Jane Hilton fiddler from the band Clare Voyants will teach some fiddle classes, and Len Rheaume will teach Bodhran. We are also offering Music theory this term (all instruments can attend these classes). All the usual classes remain - guitar, banjo, mandolin, language etc. Classes are 9 weeks for $90. To sign up email academy@azirish.org or call 602-258-0109. "THERE SHOULD BE MUSIC IN EVERY HOUSE, EXCEPT THE ONE NEXT DOOR".
Term 3 classes are offered in Music (13 different instruments) and Language (Irish and Welsh). We will also be offering a music theory class which will cover all instruments. The academy classes are 50 minutes in length and meet once a week for 9 sessions. The cost for music and language classes is $90.00 per class. Private lessons are 25 minutes in length and are available on a limited basis. The cost for private lessons is $20.00 per class.
The 2nd Saturday of most months, we offer Ceili dance lessons. This is a 2 hour dance-intensive workshop, geared towards both beginning and advanced dancers of all ages. Cost is $16.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12.
