1. OUT AND ABOUT
---- NYLE WOLFE PLAYED THE ICC LAST FRIDAY
Nyle Wolfe is vocalist from just outside of Limerick who is good friends with some of the Irish Tenors and participated with the Western Arts Alliance last week. . He contacted Mary at the ICC and arranged to have a concert last Sat. He gave an excellent show.
It took a while for this concert to be set up, so I had very little notice and did not really know what to expect. His show involved using recorded music for backup and he mixed some in some classical/opera with Irish folk and contemporary material.
The most obvious reaction was that Nyle has an amazing voice with an enormous range. So while he did several pieces as a tenor and other songs in a deep baritone. We got to know Nyle when he came by to listen the First Friday. I think he was not being merely polite when he raved about the performance. He got up and sang “She Moved Through The Fair” which convinced a lot of people to come back the next day.

---- News ----
Is it warm enough for you yet? What a scorcher this summer has been but fear
not! There is hope at hand.
Oceans Apart are stepping into the festival ring -- whether circus or boxing
remains to be seen -- as sponsor, performer and entertainment chair for the
first Celtic Harvest Festival, Sedona, September 18th and 19th.
I've checked the weather forecast and us desert rats -- and for that matter
young and old alike -- will be comfortable in the balmy Sedona air in the shadow
of the aspen and red rock monoliths (so there!).
The entertainment lineup , if I might pat myself on the back, is eclectic,
unusual and stellar.
Jane Hilton and Shay Veno
Phoenix Pipe Band
Phoenix Irish Step Dancers
James the Juggler
Storyteller Liz Warren
Harpist Mary Bouley

is just over the hill!!!

On Saturday the 19th, the Festival will open at 10am. The Festival Main Stage located in the Kiva Courtyard, will feature Celtic Music and dance throughout the day. In addition to outstanding performers, there will be opportunities to learn about your Celtic roots, the history and significance of different tartans for kilts or sashes, make a “Kern Dollie” with the Northern AZ Cultural Center in our Cultural Corner, eat fish and chips, corned beef or Cornish pasties, and enjoy diverse Celtic performances on 2 separate stages. venues with "The Rolling Stones", "The Rascals", "The
Doors", and more recently with Alasdair Fraser, Men of Worth, The Wicked

"...The tunes and songs he plays are evocative of the Irish and Scots
landscapes. The playing is emotional and reflective without being maudlin or
sentimental. The melodies lift the spirit and weave a magic that sustains long
after the last notes fade."
- Jools Thatcher, DuggUp/Saturday Soundings, Melbourne, Australia
"... Very rarely have we heard a more sensitive and expressive guitarist
who communicates through his Taylor guitar."
- Alfredo De Pietra, Keltika Magazine, Milan, Italy
"...a poetic bard who speaks to your very soul."
- Rob Lockhart, Canadian Author
"...a spectacular event." "We loved it from beginning to end."
- Kersti Evans , Presenter, Trilogy, Rio Vista, CA

Customer Comments:
1. "Hello Tam, I received the second disc "A Warm Welcome", thank you very much its wonderful, I must say that you are a very good photographer and the shots you have taken of Wales were fantastic, you have a keen eye for good composition and the colours in some of the photos were just beautiful, you certainly covered a good bit of Wales when you were here, you have probably seen more of Wales than a lot of Welsh people.....Russell Sheppard, Llanbradach, Wales.
2. Hello Tamara, I received your new cd yesterday (Friday) and we played it last night before a dinner party started. We were impressed by the beautiful photography and landscape of Wales. Keep up the great work."
Sincerely,
the Welshman
