Phoenix Irish Feis
--- NEW DIRECTOR OF MCELLIGOTT SCHOOL
Heather McElligott Sparks has moved to Pennsylvania and the school is now being run by Michael Patrick Gallagher. I met him at the Phoenix Feis last weekend. This is taken from his website, www.irishdanceworks.com:
"As a TCRG holder, former World champion and lead of Riverdance, Michael Pat has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to pass on to younger dancers. Michael Pat has given workshops in Australia, New Zealand, Hungary, Mexico and across the US. He has worked with established Irish dance schools as well as schools specializing in other forms of dance."
Due to the change in operation, there will be no Christmas Feis this year, but it will return next year.
2. KISSERS TO PLAY THE RHYTHM ROOM THIS WEDNESDAY
For Six years the kissers have been playing throughout the Midwest. Having built a strong following, they are now spreading their unique sound and "rollicking" stage show throughout the country. The seven-piece lineup blends traditional Celtic melodies with modern rock rhythms.

Renown Scottish Singer to Grace
Friday, November 12th, promises to be another milestone in community music: Alex Beaton, a fixture for many years on both sides of the Atlantic, is coming to Phoenix!
Mesa Highland Games fans will already be familiar with the voice, humor and winning smile, but everyone else is in for a treat. Alex, not surprisingly, is in great demand around the world, but the Irish Cultural Center has managed to secure an exclusive Phoenix appearance.
There'll be food, a bar, children's area, raffles, and Celtic booths, not to mention pipers Len & Kathy Wood. Come on, out you come for another magical night under our diamond skies. For more information call 602-258-0109, or visit:

SAW DOCTORS CONCERT PHOTOS
The Saw Doctors, one of Ireland's best bands, played at The Rhythm Room on September 30th. Several of us attended the performance, and were given an excellent show by this enthusiastic, talented group. You can view pictures from the show at www.rosiemccaffreys.com. After the show, the band headed to (where?) Rosie's for some fun and relaxation before hitting the road again.
ROSIE'S NEW WEBSITE
Check out the new Rosie's website at www.rosiemccaffreys.com. You'll find such things as patron and event photos (with pic of the week on the homepage), a schedule of events, reviews for Rosie's, and even a guestbook.
See if your picture is on the photo page! Sign the guestbook and let us know how your experience at Rosie's was!
6. COLM MAGUIRE PASSES AWAY
Hello
I wanted to let you know that my Dad, Colm Maguire, passed away on Tuesday October 19th, in his own bed surrounded by his kids and grandkids. My Dad had a non-painful form of Parkinsons Disease called Super Progressive Nuclear Palsy. Basically a disease that effects the skeletal muscle nerves and shuts them off.
He had a beautiful "send off" with a piper in church and an angel (my friend Brid) singing Danny Boy. The family is doing well and my Mom is doing the best she can.
Thank you for all your prayers.
